"And when the mother recognized that the garment of darkness was imperfect, then she knew that her consort had not agreed with her. She repented with much weeping. And the whole pleroma heard the prayer of her repentance, and they praised on her behalf the invisible, virginal Spirit. And he consented; and when the invisible Spirit had consented, the holy Spirit poured over her from their whole pleroma. For it was not her consort who came to her, but he came to her through the pleroma in order that he might correct her deficiency. And she was taken up not to her own aeon but above her son, that she might be in the ninth until she has corrected her deficiency. – Apocryphon of John
There is much uncertainty that comes with newness and the future. This New Year is no different. The future is a vast darkness that we cannot see into without the proper light. Being the children of Sophia that we are, we will plunge into the darkness without a second thought. For some, they might be lucky and all turns out well; for others they might share the same fate as our mother Sophia and royally screw up. Like Sophia though, if we do screw up, we have a chance for redemption. Her consort Christ has descended down from the heavens, sacrificing his immortality to reside ever present with her and us to give us a way to see through the darkness that is the future and fate. The lights of redemption are faith, love, and reason. It is these that illuminate the path of the unknown so we may be able to tread through it. Rather than becoming the very beasts of the darkness, we can become children of the God who is our Heavenly Father. We can be a brother and bride of Christ and we can be the husband and sister of Sophia. When wisdom and love come into perfect union the darkness is eliminated and the path becomes clear.
As we go into the New Year of 2014, keep wisdom and love present in your hearts. It is through wisdom that redemption starts and love that completes our redemption. The New Year is time to celebrate for our second chance and new beginnings. While the future is unknown, we will have faith since Sophia and Christ resides with in each of us, wanting us to follow them home and receiving the true peace that salvation brings. We no longer have to die in our sins but we can be resurrected and redeemed. For Sophia gave us the wisdom to recognize the lies of the Archons; Christ shows us first hand that the Law is a lie. Our redemption begins with the wisdom to recognize that something is wrong and ends with accepting the love that transcends our understanding. This is not only a new year but it is the new year and our new year. The end is the beginning and the beginning is the end. We are in the presence of the Alpha and Omega now and forever. Amen.
