I'm wondering about this one: www.logos.com/product/30091/the-acts-of-philip-a-new-translation.
I haven't had time to investigate. Right now it costs $18.95, which is pretty much as this must be the best translation.

What do You know about it and what would You say about purchasing and reading it and the kind of influence it would have?
Sorry I can't investigate myself right now as I have to read for a History test which is on Wednesday.

The various "Acts", and there were many, were written as pious entertainment. The are sometimes referred to as "Romance Gospels". Some of the better ones, such as ACTS OF THOMAS and the ACTS OF JOHN are available for reading online.

The historical importance of these writings are the illuminations of the beliefs of the times; beliefs that are often lost to history.
