I stop by to check now and then. Hate to see it not being use, but understand we all get busy. It's my only connection to my friends in Gnosis. Am I missing another place where everyone goes?

I haven't forgotten about the board. I don't know how to build a gnostic community and I don't know how to bring people in since we're not "selling or promising" anything. I can write beautiful sermons and reflections but that's where my talents seem to end. Soulgazer put a lot of faith in me to build up this community but I don't know where to go with it. It seems everyone is so focused on defining "Gnostic" to be anything and everything that is not Christianity and it's become a big mess. People looking for "Gnostic" tend to be those looking for New Age, Occult stuff, or Aliens. I know that's not you but that's most of the people I encounter. Soulgazer did tell me that the Church of Gnosis was like the moon it waxes and wanes but doesn't fully go out. I think it's waning for the time being but like the moon, it will wax again.
As for my life, my fiancee of 8 years has broken up with me but is still living with me until she can move out. I've been feeling worthless because of my inability to draw in a crowd concerning this. I despise myself and I don't even know why. No matter how many good things are said about me, it makes me feel even more worthless because I can't see it for myself and it seems unreal.

Sorry to hear about your relationship issue. But we all go through it one way or another. I had a bad break up some 20 years ago that tore the life from me. The only solution comes from time. We tend to torture ourselves by continuing to look behind us or what could have been, rather than what may be in store that could be even better. It's the learning process. There is no greater pain than the lose of love. And time is the only healer. Been there, done that. But when I look back on it with todays eyes, I see it was for the best for me and her, and I am better now for it. One person doesn't decide you worthiness. You were worth a lot to James, and to me, and to many others you touch. Now you see why Paul was so negative on marriage. You will prevail.
As far as the board, the bots seek out phrases for search engines. A post needs to include what you think someone may put into a search engine. Of course the more hits, the further up the search engine it rises. When I started making music, I picked a name that was unique. Moving Aire. But even then the search engine tries to find "Moving air" (without the e. But if you put in the songs it arrives at the top. Reversion Symphony, Dance of the Firefly, Cruising Nowhere.
Meta tags are funny. And you need to understand how they work to attract seekers. Also, youtube is a good place to set meta tags as well. You can link a youtube channel with this forum and pull results as well. I wish I would have got with James before he started this forum. UnorthodoxChristian wasn't the best name as far as attracting through search engines. Put in unorthodox christian in the search engine and you will get so many orthodox sites we become lost. Gnostic Truth is more open, and Gnosis sites come up at the top. Use the meta tag area of the freeforums control panel to add words seekers may put into search engines.

That I know it's for the best we're breaking up. We're great friends but not relationship material. I know Paul was trying to make a community and Paul was no relationship councilor. Even James told me that Paul sucked when it came to marriage counseling. But marriage back then is a different beast then how we see it today. While it's still got it's legal roots, the ideal is no longer exclusively legal. Fortunately we were never married so we don't have that burden on us. I'm not seeing meta tags in the admin section. I'll be posting a link to this forum on a few facebook pages and reach a few people.

Meta Tags here are gathered by Bots. We try to match them to what a person might type into a search engine. Example would be to label a thread "Are Gnostics Christians".
The Bots remembers and loads it into the SE database. When someone types that phrase, the SE will comply with all "Are Gnostics Christians". The more hits on our site, the further up the SE it goes. That phrase has been used quite a bit. So if Christian Forums has attracted 1,000 hits with the phrase then they top the SE list when a SE displays what it found. If we are hit only once, we are at the bottom, maybe 10 pages further as you look at results. There are even sales sites that will hit your site for you like 10,000 hits for $100. Cheating? Yes. Just part of corporate greed.
Independent search engines like Facebook, Youtube, etc. doesn't use bots, so you have to enter your own tags for their SE. Google and the likes handle so much, they send out Bots to gather "all" information.
