There are two trees growing in Paradise. The one bears animals, the other bears men. Adam ate from the tree which bore animals. He became an animal and he brought forth animals. For this reason the children of Adam worship animals. The tree [...] fruit is [...] increased. [...] ate the [...] fruit of the [...] bears men, [...] man. [...] God created man. [...] men create God. That is the way it is in the world - men make gods and worship their creation. It would be fitting for the gods to worship men!-Gospel of Philip
I see this knowledge as once again defining duality. As Jesus taught in Secret John, he was in Eden with Adam and Eve. We see, in our minds, a physical place of foliage and beauty. But both god and God were there. Eden centralizes on the transgression.
What god did Cain and Abel prepare sacrifices for?
Genesis 5
3 When Adam had lived 130 years, he had a son in his own likeness, in his own image; and he named him Seth.
It seems that Secret John is correct when it says Cain and Abel were fathered by god (the murderer).
It appears Seth is the true beginning of mankind, and through him, was the bearing of men. Genesis 5:2 says "When God created mankind, he made them in the likeness of God. 2 He created them male and female and blessed them. And he named them “Mankind”.
So we have a likeness to God, then a likeness to Adam.
John 8:44
You belong to your father, the devil, and you want to carry out your father’s desires. He was a murderer from the beginning, not holding to the truth, for there is no truth in him. When he lies, he speaks his native language, for he is a liar and the father of lies.
It feels spiritually disturbing to call "Yahweh" or "Jehovah" a liar and murderer. But Philip gives support in this:
Names given to the worldly are very deceptive, for they divert our thoughts from what is correct to what is incorrect. Thus one who hears the word "God" does not perceive what is correct, but perceives what is incorrect. So also with "the Father" and "the Son" and "the Holy Spirit" and "life" and "light" and "resurrection" and "the Church (Ekklesia)" and all the rest - people do not perceive what is correct but they perceive what is incorrect, unless they have come to know what is correct. The names which are heard are in the world [...] deceive. If they were in the Aeon (eternal realm), they would at no time be used as names in the world. Nor were they set among worldly things. They have an end in the Aeon.-Gospel of Philip
And Philip goes on to distinguish the duality, erasing Adam in the likeness of god, and Seth in the likeness of Adam (or animals and men) in this knowledge:
Adam came into being from two virgins, from the Spirit and from the virgin earth. Christ therefore, was born from a virgin to rectify the Fall which occurred in the beginning. -Gospel of Philip
So now, we have an explanation to Paul's:
1 Corinthians 15:45
So it is written: “The first man Adam became a living being”; the last Adam, a life-giving spirit.
The first Adam, an animal/slave, the last Adam, transgressed, spiritual and who's first son Seth was the true father of mankind.
But Cain made a different mankind, to live among true mankind.
As silly as this sounds, is it possible that we have non spirit (of God) men walking among us, instinctively following a god of ignorance?
I hope someone has more knowledge to aid in this.
