Rough outline of what we discussed today in group. I will elaborate more later tonight but just wanted to give a basic summary:
Back to basics
Christ is the “way”, the holy spirit is the desire to do good.
Good is not good and evil is not evil; all actions have consequences but that should not stop you from doing what is right.
The Law does not make one holy. Love makes a person holy. The Law can be conquered by Love.
We don’t believe in “magic”/superstitions. We aren’t trying to bend reality to our will. We aren’t focused on trying to learn how to cast Lvl 5 fireball. We are trying to change ourselves to becoming more Christ-like
To show that the Law is bullshit you have to be under the Law. What you are immersed in gives you a better understanding of what's wrong with it.
Paul influenced Christianity and the Christianity we have today is a reaction to Paul’s influence.
Paul grew as a person like we all do. He grew from believing in the return of a literal Christ to believing that Christ has already returned within us.
