One of the things I struggle with still is when someone uses the word "gnostic" to mean something that doesn't represent what I believe. Even if it's not directed at me, my impulse is to respond to it and correct the person. I know this is an example of the Archons at work, trying to get me to focus on petty things, in particular things that aren't even there to begin with. Today that happened, I was about to post a response to a person who used the word gnostic to mean someone who relies on their feelings alone, but then I thought to myself that would distract from the topic. I was about to PM this person but this person is a friend and I know she was not directing it at me.
So I decided to direct this impulse instead to writing this thread here and discuss how do you avoid the trap of words. How do you personally avoid the trap of labels? How do you not let it get under your skin and get caught being distracted from keeping perspective of what is important in life?

It's a tough thing to bite your tongue (or in this case fingers?) when you see someone posting misinformation, even if it is not in malicious way or directed at you.
I find the best way to fight it is to not give it any energy. When something gets under your skin, it's just a thought that you won't let go of. We fill that thought with energy and it gets bigger and bigger. However, if we don't give that thought energy, it eventually goes away. The key is not to block out the thought, but to see it for what it is, laugh at it, and watch it wander off because you aren't giving it enough attention.
Zen Master Shunryu Suzuki said “To give your sheep or cow a large, spacious meadow is the way to control him.” The sheep or cow is that thought. Let that thought run around in your mind, but just don't give it the energy. It will tire and go away.
