Let me start by saying that this is not a reflection on anybody or anything. I left because I personally cannot handle that type of strife. I don't have the ability to process it correctly anymore, and I have found myself responding to the negative spirits that permeate that forum, not as a Christian, but returning tit for tat.
I hope everyone here finds this board a safe haven from that type of enviroment, and always, if and when I go off the deep end, it is your Christian duty to verbally slap me with a hammer.
Carry on.

A spiritual move that is understood fully. The UT forums have become more of a breeding ground to permeate hatred and confusion rather than love and understanding. The double standard of the new SoF seems to open the door for Orthodoxy's ability to condemn any truth that is not aligned with it, giving free rein to use partial truths as a battle axe against open minded truth that is, I believe, essential in defining Gospel wisdom.
A debate should have two or more sides of view points, each establishing verification of why they are essential to debate. But when the SoF says "we hold your view or belief to be in error, [so here's a forum to express it anyways]", the judgement of the posting is all ready been made. How many Orthodox Christians are going to use that line in their debate as a tool to draw strength from?
I thank you for this forum, Soulgazer. And I am sure it will not rise to CFs level, just as truth remains hidden from so many who won't take the time to search for it.
Be well, my friend.

Please don't blame CF. The blame, if any, is on me for not being able to keep a perspective that kept me above the fray. We are all going to face unpleasentness in our lives, and how we deal with it defines who we are in the minds of others. It is the duty of every Christian to let the Christ spirit have dominance. I failed in my duty as a Christian, plain and simple. Any embarresment I own. But Christ doesn't judge, so I will pick myself up, dust myself off, and keep on keepin on. I may have lost a battle, but the war is not over yet.

I don't think you will miss much at the CF UT forum anymore anyways. When I first visited the UT forum last year, it had so many interesting threads. Now when one visits the UT forum, it's 90% 'anti-Mormon' threads. Not much interesting to read there or discuss unless you are Mormon or one of the 'crusaders'. ;D

CF seems like it has some nice people, but it is so hard to focus a conversation over all of the strife. UT in particular seems to be running like a broken record these days, the atmosphere here is much more welcoming.

I still plan on visiting CF. But am happy to see a place I can say yes I am a Christian and I am a Freemason. I was much more harsh until I became a Freemason and realized I had been to judgmental and was being treated the way I had thought about people in the past. Please forgive me.

Now I see why the few good discussions are no longer at UT. The people that started them are all here now. Good to see you all again.

Carry on. I have finally seen what you saw as well. During the time my wife was hospitalized, I was a basket of nerves. I caught myself becoming arrogant and defensive for being referred to as gnostic, as though it was the N word. I finally got responses of why I was getting so uptight. I started thinking, and made a post that I apologized and that I was under some pressure, and needed a few days with my Lord, one on one and would not be posting for awhile. I did only come here for spiritual support. Other than a brief post, I started rereading posts here. And I found this from rmcdra: "What are your ropes and millstones? Who are you feeding? Do you want to feed your masters? Are your masters bringing you anywhere fulfilling? These are questions to think about in your life. Just as people grow, so does truth. Is truth growing within you or are you just spinning your wheels going nowhere? Movement does bring us progress but we must know when to rest, lest we be like the ass that is going nowhere. Motion and rest are evidence of God within you." Read more: unorthodoxchristian.freeforums.net/thread/73/ass-millstone#ixzz2zu2HZPDpThis hit the nail directly on the proverbial head. The I thought, as large as CF (Unorthodox) forum is, as many posts as they have on a daily basis, how much have I truly learned of truth, of love, of Christ, of knowledge? There is a reason Jesus told them not to tarry in the towns. The process had to keep moving, and rest with each other, praying and charging their spirits like batteries to continue in full charge. Without rest, you get worn down (spiritually). Without movement, you get surrounded (by ignorance). But through Gods grace, when I became weak, I was strong. And the spirit seemed to lead me here, to feed, and to testify. Keep up the good fight.

I know I got into the same arguments with the same people on that forum. I learned an awful lot from reading some of the debates, so it was beneficial for the time I was there. But when SG made this forum I was happy to leave. It was time to go. I've been actually trying to get people from Spiralinward.com to post over here also since that forum isn't super active. It's frustrating that I can't get all my favorite people in the same place to chat

Well Hi. I found you! I want to congratulate you Soulgazer on forming this forum. I have posted on several different forums and generally found a good deal of hostility. When it comes to religious beliefs most have their mind made up, and they can react quite negatively towards others who don't hold their same beliefs, and there are few "Christian" forums which offer an opportunity for this type of free discussion. I found CF to be a better Christian environment than Theology0nline.com but as of late I have begun to feel that my time there is coming to the end of any usefulness, and the thread topics have become uninteresting. I actually thought of creating an Unorthodox Christian forum or maybe making some Youtube videos, and get something going around that, and here I find you have done it. So here I am. I believe there is a real need for a forum allowing this type of exchange, and I will take this opportunity to say hi to the group.

Hi and welcome. Please feel free to explore any theological topic you wish here. We do our best to keep it friendly and non confrontational--- The moderators report that thus far it's been the easiest board, and that has to be due to the quality of the posters!

Hi, rev!! I talked to You one the phone once this year, remember? Nice to see You here. I will call You some other time too but not this month. This Summer I'm preparing for the Gk class and if I can spare a bit of focus I'll call one guy from CF who can teach me just a little bit of Hebrew - I'll see what I do: So here I am. I believe there is a real need for a forum allowing this type of exchange, and I will take this opportunity to say hi to the group.

I feel the spirit moving me away from Christian Forums right now, but you will still be able to reach me there. I will probably be posting more at Theologyonline.com. I really "dislike" a few of the posters there - the OSAS type - who attack anyone who disagrees with their gospel. But I just try to avoid them. It doesn't do any good to try to change their minds. But there are some things the site has going for it - a good bit of traffic, and an open attitude about post subjects. As long as you are respectful, you can post about most any religious subject - unorthodox etc. There was a Mod once who tried to keep me off the Exclusive Christian thread, but she soon was asked to step down thereafter. I wish you luck in your class.

I have learned that WE don't change minds. I used the "seeker" moniker, as my mind is open to truth. Their monikers suggest they have found it. Even if truth stirs them, they return to their respective group to be fed. Only the Spirit changes minds, IMO. And if we don't experience the will of God through the Spirit for ourselves, we tend to follow those who experience it for themselves, right or wrong.
