I was reading a post online where a "Christian" was trying to justify that today we should learn to judge our neighbor, and that things are not as they were in the times of Jesus. This was in response to someone asking if we should love Muslim Extremists. The Christian showed his lack of knowledge by saying "Jesus taught us an eye for an eye".
I made a simple post asking him to go back an reread MT 5:38.
With out this one small bit of truth, and being misunderstood, a persons whole view can be changed..........possibly for the worst.
The small bits of truth is as important as the whole. By knowing ourselves, we seek to hear the masters words, placing them into our understanding to see if they fit, if it glorifies the Father, makes us better. We can see that an "eye for an eye" doesn't fit in Christ. But there could be even smaller words, phrases, that takes truth on a bitter ride.
I pray the Father that we all continue the path of pure truth as the Father desires of us. To see, hear even the smallest bits of knowledge to make a divine complete whole.

I want to build upon this here since this seems to the gnostic mythos in action here. It is through error that evil is brought forth. Yes knowledge can correct this deficiency but without the understanding of the that knowledge, it's meaningless. That is what gnosis is. It is the coupling of wisdom with knowledge to bring about a greater understanding that knowledge nor wisdom alone can bring. Gnosis perfects in that it makes us authentic and compassionate while bringing us closer to understanding the nature of the Father-Mother.

"Names given to the worldly are very deceptive, for they divert our thoughts from what is correct to what is incorrect. Thus one who hears the word "God" does not perceive what is correct, but perceives what is incorrect. So also with "the Father" and "the Son" and "the Holy Spirit" and "life" and "light" and "resurrection" and "the Church (Ekklesia)" and all the rest - people do not perceive what is correct but they perceive what is incorrect, unless they have come to know what is correct. The names which are heard are in the world [...] deceive. If they were in the Aeon (eternal realm), they would at no time be used as names in the world. Nor were they set among worldly things. They have an end in the Aeon."- Philip
We must be careful in where we believe truth lies. I have watched. in the years, how that when someone would question spiritual (or God) that those who profess knowledge would seek out answers in written Old Testament scriptures. If no one can come to the Father but through Christ, how did the Hebrews come to God? If God commanded the Hebrews with truth, why then did Christ come?
But truth brought names into existence in the world for our sakes, because it is not possible to learn it (truth) without these names. Truth is one single thing; it is many things and for our sakes to teach about this one thing in love through many things. The rulers (archons) wanted to deceive man, since they saw that he had a kinship with those that are truly good. They took the name of those that are good and gave it to those that are not good, so that through the names they might deceive him and bind them to those that are not good. And afterward, what a favor they do for them! They make them be removed from those that are not good and place them among those that are good. These things they knew, for they wanted to take the free man and make him a slave to them forever. -Philip
When Marcion completed his search, he had the first cannonized Bible. The core of what Paul instituted, without OT, the Pastorals, etc. But once the catholics saw a "physical" advantage, they surrounded it with "once again" with analogies that combined ignorance with truth, physical with spiritual. Rather than seeking a kingdom of spirituality, now we had scriptures that sought to make a kingdom on the Earth, a false gateway, with self proclaimed terrestrial control on Earth, promoting fear (of God) while holding the carrot in front of us as the "way".
So, when Jesus spoke, we have one book (compounded 3 times) as all that Jesus said. These are the "acts" of Jesus. To seek elsewhere is heresy. Heretics were killed, their books destroyed.
A religion was created, an all-in-one, that was at peace with the world. If the world killed Christ, and believing Christians, what changed then?
