Have you ever noticed that Jesus sent his disciples in two's, and afterward the disciples visited different assemblies at different times?
Yet God only spoke to Moses. And to Muhammad. And to many prophets singly and alone. Even Irenaeus spoke as a one man authority. As well as a few other "fathers".
If we see Eugnostos as a group, and Valentinian as a group (effort) to inform, it would seem to follow more in line with how Christ taught (not me, but my Father) since he didn't actually appear to promote himself. Just a thought about if we become influenced by a man, or men. (like arguing if the true church is based on Peter).
