Interesting. I noticed a few comments from Orthodox claiming a non Canonical source. The very thought of Canonizing truth is an oxymoron in it's own right. It just goes to show that some don't seek to understand this from Thomas:
<Jesus said,> "Whoever does not hate his father and his mother as I do cannot become a disciple to me. And whoever does not love his father and his mother as I do cannot become a disciple to me. For my mother [...], but my true mother gave me life." -Thomas
There is enough in the last line to define the whole verse as a separating of material and spiritual. Yet most "refuse" to dissect and understand the truth in it. When Christ was on the cross, he said "woman, behold your son". And the catholics have statues made to show Mary holding a "dead" Jesus.
To some, this was the end. To others, the beginning. Sophia continued to speak, IMO. And Christ never died.
