Trying to make sense of this anyone want to take a stab at it? What are these different types of souls mentioned in the Apocryphon of John? Is this some sort of reference I'm not getting? "And the powers began: the first one, goodness, created a bone-soul; and the second, foreknowledge, created a sinew-soul; the third, divinity, created a flesh-soul; and the fourth, the lordship, created a marrow-soul; the fifth, kingdom created a blood-soul; the sixth, envy, created a skin-soul; the seventh, understanding, created a hair-soul. And the multitude of the angels attended him and they received from the powers the seven substances of the natural (form) in order to create the proportions of the limbs and the proportion of the rump and the proper working together of each of the parts. ......and that is how the archons create us. Ancient inacurate biology, but a good spiritual lesson in the importance of maintaining a healthy seperation of spirit and matter.

The soul seeks those 7 things, Kingdom, Understanding, Goodness, etc. The physical can provide it to the ignorant mind. But not in the "truth" that Christ revealed. Spiritual knowledge was left out from the beginning. Complete knowledge (of spirit) beckoned (to Eve first then Adam) from the Tree of Knowledge. It's desire was overwhelming. Remember the word "desire" in root means "of the father". It is the way the Archons could create the "angel of light" in the mind of man. And without the spirit, the soul accepted it as truth. 1 Corinthians 15 44 It is sown a natural body; it is raised a spiritual body. There is a natural body, and there is a spiritual body. 45 And so it is written, The first man Adam was made a living soul; the last Adam was made a quickening spirit. 46 Howbeit that was not first which is spiritual, but that which is natural; and afterward that which is spiritual. Just my understanding of it anyway.
