Just before I left CF, I had a PM from a lady to come to a site called "Truthseekers". I went, found it to be an anti Paul site, but joined and participated. I didn't project Paul or even defend him, just learning the site. I had mentioned a few verses gnostic (non Paul related) and a few asked me start a thread on the meaning of gnosis. So I started one thread called "What is Truth". Simply enough, when the Canon has Pilate asking the question, Jesus doesn't respond. I just took the Acts of Pilate (GoN) and showed a finish to the important question. Nothing Paul. As the thread got good questions and results, once it seemed to take on some life, the attackers came. I was given (and hit hard) about Mani, the Bishop of Hippo (?), Irenaeus, Ignatius and a group who used "blogs" to say that the gnostics were Roman Catholics (no matter how I showed Against Heresies to be against gnosis). In my short lived participation, I bid them farewell.
I have come to the conclusion that the calling towards gnosis is something desired on the spiritual level, and is sought after. You don't teach gnosis. You show others where and how to find it, and they either make the trek or they don't. It's why it is not a theology, but a path. One each chooses to travel.
I thank Soulgazer for this home. I looked and it seems I post a lot here. The final on many threads. I don't want to appear as a know it all. I just enjoy sharing what I feel. It brought back once again, the Pastors thread on "movement and repose". And I continue learning once again. There may not be as many sermons here. It may not be filled with people every hour. But the quality of what is found here, bests anything I have found elsewhere.
My only other forum now is my Metal Detecting forum. Good ol boys having fun finding things in the ground.
And as long as SG keeps this place, it's my repose.
